Studying at the Conservatoire means immersing yourself in an international environment where diversity and collaboration are key. For the jazz programme, this translates into:
At the jazz programme of the Royal Conservatoire Antwerp, you not only get the chance to develop your artistic talent, but also to grow in an international context that opens doors to the world.
Thanks in part to its collaboration with the international Arts Campus DE SINGEL, the Conservatoire has strong links with the international and interdisciplinary arts landscape. Concerts and performances connect seamlessly with your day of classes. In this way, the campus becomes an inspiring meeting place where learning, making and showing come together.
You can attend coaching projects and masterclasses by well-known and specialised artists from all over the world.
In addition to internationalisation@home, jazz education also offers international playing opportunities. Through membership of IASJ, the establishment of ARKestra, participation in Jazz's Cool and in ContemPLAY, our students regularly perform on international stages.
Within the framework of the Erasmus+ programme, students can spend part of their programme abroad. Besides the chance for unique artistic development, this also gives you the opportunity to get to know other cultures, develop your language skills and independence and learn to place your view of society in a broader context. The has cooperation agreements with partners all over Europe. Due to the high artistic level of jazz students, they manage to spend a semester or an academic year studying at other top European institutions through the Erasmus+ programme (Rhytmic Music Conservatory Copenhagen, Hochschule für Musik ‘Hans Eisler’ Berlin, Sibelius Academy Helsinki, NTNU Department of Music Trondheim, Gothenburg University, ...).
Are you interested in an exchange via a programme such as Erasmus+? The Royal Conservatoire Antwerp is happy to welcome students who want to be part of our international community on a temporary basis.
We offer the same intensive accompaniment and support to exchange students as to our regular students. However, because our teaching is highly individualised, we cannot accept all applications. Each application is carefully assessed for artistic qualities and motivation.
As an exchange student, you do not pay tuition fees to the Conservatoire. You continue to pay your tuition fees to your own institution. During your stay, however, you will have to provide your own accommodation. Finding a good student room is easy via Kotweb.
An exchange at the Royal Conservatoire Antwerp offers you the unique opportunity to broaden your artistic horizons in an international environment. We look forward to seeing your talent grow here!
