From the academic year '20-'21 you can take saxhorn lessons with two new teachers: Lode Violet and Kevin Van Giel. Lode Violet also specializes in cornet and Kevin Van Giel in euphonium.
Dirk was a very versatile musician. After his professional musical education at the conservatories of Ghent, Antwerp and Brussels, where he graduated cum laude, he became soloist piccolo and flute at the orchestra of the Flemish Opera in Antwerp and at the Flemish Radio Orchestra. As an orchestral musician, soloist, chambrist and conductor he has worked on dozens of recordings.
Nico Couck, Roland Broux and Jan Sanen's guitar class had the honour of playing at the Klub Katarakt 2020 festival in Hamburg in January. They were invited after they premiered the piece ZONEN 6 (by Michael Maierhofs) during 'Aperitiefconcert Meesters'.
Research group CORPoREAL becomes partner of a new international network for dance research: "CoDa | Cultures of Dance". The aim of CoDa is to promote dance research as an academic discipline at both national and international level, by organising various activities to promote the mutual exchange of knowledge, expertise and skills between dance researchers, locally and abroad.
The new legendary Steinway piano concert grand piano and an upgrade of the 87 other pianos at the Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp. This is the final result of the campaign Save The Piano, which started 5 years ago to provide the students of the Conservatory with the necessary pianos.
