Tone Brulin (stage name of Antoon van den Eynde, 1926) is one of the most striking and versatile Flemish theater makers after World War II. As director, actor, writer and scenographer, he repeatedly defended the beacons of the Flemish theater. His commitment is spread over four continents and extends over seventy years. Yet his name is hardly known among a younger generation.
Erwin Jans, researcher at the Royal Conservatoire Antwerp, together with Het Firmament, dove into the archives of Letterenhuis, Archive and Museum for Flemish life in Brussels (AMVB) and Kunstenpunt. Carefully they selected clippings, photographs, posters and documents that paint a picture of Brulin’s remarkable career. Today, a time when the theater is searching again for its social embedding, its pioneering work can be a source of inspiration. In this exhibition you will discover not only the versatility of Brulin's work and the changing spirit of the times, but also a diversity of documentary heritage.

The exhibition is the result of Erwin Jans' research project at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp (AP Hogeschool), Forgotten Flemish Repertoire 1945 - 1980.
