Johannes Westendorp studied at the Conservatories of Tilburg and Ghent and holds a master's degree in artistic research at the University of Amsterdam. He made several performances with sound installations, including ‘Tijdwerk’ (for self-destructive instruments), ‘Obstructie’ (for three performers that obstruct each other) and, together with Pieter Verhees, ‘Inside Mount Lu’ (an interactive, sonorous labyrinth). He is one of the co-founders of Zwerm. Zwerm has collaborated with many different composers, musicians, storytellers and theatre makers. They gave concerts in the UK, Europe, Mexico, Iran and the United States at major festivals such as Holland Festival, Ruhr Triennale, Ultima Festival and venues such as The Barbican Centre in London, deSingel, Handelsbeurs, Bimhuis… Zwerm has released several CDs with New World Records and two LPs in collaboration with producer Rudy Trouvé.
