Mokhallad Rasem (1981) is an actor and director, born and educated in Baghdad. The war in Iraq gives his life a different turn and since 2005 he lives and works in Belgium. He made himself noticed with his work that is flashy and physical, associative and fragmentary. From 1 January 2013 until 2022 he was a Toneelhuis maker. While he initially mainly worked with classical theater repertoire, his approach has become more documentary in nature over time. Projects such as Body Revolution and Soul Seekers testify to a special sensitivity to what displacement does to a person. Gripping, universal, and stubbornly hopeful.
