Erasing the city’s project subsidies for arts and culture for the next three years is a disastrous gesture. The Antwerp arts sector is still shaken by the pandemic effects and is still vulnerable.
This decision threatens to hit the art scene once again in its core.

On Wednesday 14 September, the winners of the Prize Mondial Research 2022 (awarded by the Province of Antwerp) were honored. Our very own Photography alumnus, Marc Bertel, won the prize on behalf of AP University for Applied Sciences and the Arts with his graduation project 'This Small House is All We Need'. Congratulations!
As a student at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts, you have several opportunities to gain an international experience. For example, you can study abroad through an Erasmus+ experience, do an internship in another country, participate in a foreign project or follow an English-language course.

After 37 years of work, she is saying goodbye to her trusted workplace in the Mutsaardstraat and we don’t want to let that go by without notice . Why is the art college so close to her heart? An international exchange is a once-in-a-lifetime experience where you can can meet new people in a beautiful environment, expand your perspective and accept the challenge to step out of your comfort zone. The world is your oyster. That is also what the students below thought.
Ruth Bota
Ruth studies costume design at the Academy and decided to add an international exchange experience during her studies. She traveled to Oslo, Norway, where she completed a semester abroad at the Kunsthøgskolen i Oslo.
